Please read this description carefully. It will contain the information associating this magnificent piece of jewelry with Margot de Taxco . It is made from the original Margot molds, by a talented gentleman, señor Melesio Rodriguez Villalba, who worked with Margot Van Voorhies Carr for 24 years, and now, at his 76 years of age, he continues making these beautiful pieces. He was responsible for the execution of many of Margot's designs. His artist's registry number of "MR." "TR-114" is widely recognized as one that uses Margot's original molds. This is such a piece!!!!

Please feel free to contact me for further information on sr. Villalba, and his place in the overall picture of vintage Taxco jewelry.

This bracelet is sterling silver. I'm sure you've seen this classic Margot's piece before. This one is plain silver, it does not have any enamel, except for the little details on black, just on the eyes, tail, neck, nose and little dots all over the silver snake's body.  It is a wonderful design, produced by "Margot de Taxco".  It was first introduced in the  early 1950's. In 1954 this design won first place in the national silver fair, Celebrated every year in Taxco, Mexico. You can see why, just take a look at the wonderful detail and complex work, which makes it a unique piece of jewelry.

The ethnic elements shown on this bracelet are so charming, there are so many adjectives that can describe her designs and I will always remember people of them, her designer creativity was unlimited and only these words can tell you enough... artistic, trendy, unique, exotic, that's why she's one of my favorite designers from the golden era in the Mexican silver jewelry.
I would like to comment on Melesio Villarreal, whose name is shown in the markings. He is Melesio's grandson, he's been working with his grandfather for years now and he's following the same steps by creating these amazing pieces and helping his grandfather to carry the tradition around for new generations and insuring the survival of this old Taxco art. His jewelry is made with the same excellent quality than the ones marked  by Melesio Rodriguez V.
This piece was made with a "980" sterling silver purity, better quality silver than the most common 925.

The silver snake bracelet is one and five eighths inch wide at its widest point (the centerpiece, including the tip of the tail). It has an inside circumference of six and a half inches.

Please take a minute to see the matching necklace and earrings, in my other listings.
